What does Elevate's impact really look like long-term?

Since Elevate Indy launched in 2016, we have prioritized serving both students and alumni as they gain the tools to overcome the obstacles standing between them and their goals. Our holistic mentorship model allows our Teacher-Mentors to really get to know their students, helping them develop healthy, trusting adult relationships that extend past the classroom and meet students where they need us most

But while we like to say, "Once in Elevate, always in Elevate," you may be wondering, how do we actually implement this into the lives of our students after they graduate?

As we celebrate our 10th year of long-term, life-changing legacies, we are sharing real stories of resilience and hope directly from real Elevate alumni!

Our new podcast series, "10 Years of Long-Term, Life-Changing Legacies," is a chance for you to hear what life looks like for some of our students since leaving the Elevate classroom. Each month, we will sit down with an Elevate alum to discuss the struggles and successes they've experienced since graduation. They'll also share how they first connected with Elevate, where they are today, and how Elevate continues to be a regular, intentional part of their life. In sharing these stories, we aim to show you exactly how we are creating long-term, transformational relationships - by continuing to make our students feel seen, known, heard, and loved, and by meeting them on their unique journey.

Our first two podcast episodes are now available, with another one the way! Tap here to join us in celebrating these life-changing legacies.

MEETING CURRENT NEEDS FOR FUTURE SUCCESS

Our podcast series is only the beginning of expanding our alumni care services.

A national survey of disadvantaged high school students showed that 91% desired more guidance from their school about life after graduation. Additionally, a survey conducted by Dr. Amy Sherman and the Sagamore Institute revealed that 70% of Elevate juniors and seniors participated in college & career counseling, with 41% of these stating that their Teacher-Mentor was the only person providing such guidance.

These statistics prove that young people need guidance and support in order to confidently pursue their postsecondary goals. This has led us to increase our focus on serving Elevate seniors and alumni to ensure that these students receive the tools they need to establish goals and discover their limitless potential. Each of our Teacher-Mentors is a Certified Agilities Coach, which allows them to better empower students to make smart career decisions and achieve postsecondary success. And, with the help of Gisela Perez, our new Transformational Leadership Coach & Alumni Mentor, we are better able to support our alumni with personalized, holistic mentorship and help them stay on their personal path toward success.

Each student has a unique journey with unique goals, and we are proud to walk with them every step of the way. You can be a part of the journey for a student by becoming a monthly donor!

Watch in real-time as a student goes from their first day in the classroom to their first day in a thriving, purposeful career. A long-term investment in Elevate is a long-term investment in transforming the life of a young person with limitless potential to thrive.
