INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., April 21, 2026 – Elevate Indianapolis is proud to announce the placement of three more students as caddies at local golf clubs as part of the WGA Caddie Academy.

The Western Golf Association (WGA) connects at-promise young men and women with caddying opportunities across the country. Caddies not only receive valuable work experience, but also earn access to the Chick Evans Scholarship Program. After caddying at least 100 rounds of golf over three summers, caddies can qualify for the Evans Scholarship, which provides full college tuition and housing to participating universities.

Since 2022, Elevate has partnered with the state to identify qualifying students for this prestigious program. As the largest scholarship program for caddies, WGA aims to increase their number of Indiana scholarship recipients as they expand opportunity across the country.

“The relationships of Elevate are intended to extend long-term life-changing opportunities to all our students, and we see the Evans Scholarship Program as an ongoing strategic partnership. Helping the best and brightest of Indianapolis be exposed to the local golf community has been extremely valuable for all involved, and we believe we support the upward economic mobility of our students and alumni for decades to come," said Aaron Story, CEO of Elevate Indianapolis.

This year, three more Elevate students have been placed as caddies at local golf clubs: Purdue Polytechnical HS student Ty and Arsenal Technical HS student Maryori have been placed at Crooked Stick Country Club, and Arsenal Tech student Garrison has been placed at Highland Golf & Country Club.

“Elevate has been a great partner the last four years to get the word out about caddying and the Evans Scholarship to students that meet two important scholarship selection criteria - great grades and high financial need,” said Dominic Tumminello.

Through intentional recruitment and community collaboration, we can open more doors for under-supported students to discover their limitless potential.

In 2025, two Elevate graduates received the prestigious Evans Scholarship. Arsenal Tech High School graduate Ayodeji and George Washington High School graduate Marized both accepted the award and are currently completing their first year at Indiana University Bloomington.
