Elevate Indianapolis selected to receive grant from Lilly Foundation to expand its youth workforce development and transformational mentoring

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Elevate Indianapolis, Inc. has been named a recipient of a grant for the first time from Eli Lilly and Company Foundation (Lilly Foundation) to support its continued expansion of transformational mentoring of under-supported students and alumni for upward economic mobility opportunities.
“We’re deeply grateful to the Lilly Foundation for this two-year grant to Elevate Indianapolis, to support the education and future of our city’s young people,” said Aaron Story, President & CEO, Elevate Indianapolis. “This grant will expand our youth workforce development mentoring efforts, helping students gain the skills, exposure, and relationships they need to succeed in school, work, and life to thrive and contribute to their communities.”
Over the two-year grant period, Elevate Indianapolis will increase its youth workforce development mentoring efforts through enhanced college-and-career programming through deeper collaboration in our community. Elevate will complete a comprehensive three-year strategic plan, implement updated impact measurement systems, and realign staffing to strengthen mentorship and work-based learning opportunities, and will expand transformational mentoring at Purdue Polytechnic High Schools and Indianapolis Public High Schools. Through these efforts, Elevate expects to engage hundreds of students in mentoring, workforce training, certifications, and career exploration experiences that prepare them for higher-paying jobs and long-term success.
